The fortress island, and now park, of Suomenlinna, is located off of Helsinki Finland, and is simply stunningly beautiful. They left many of the bunkers and old cannons in place, which add to the historical significance of the island, but more, I think it adds a nice counterpoint to the flowers and colors and sheer beauty of the place it has become.
